i am having to bit my tongue alot lately with another livery, but i'm getting to the point where i will snap soon. have talked to my yo previously about this but she is away for the week so i can't say anything til she gets back. anyway what would you do in this situation.

the livery has 2 horses mother and son (18 and 8) which are unhandlerable by anyone but the livery, the son can be very dangerous (bits and kicks ect) anyway in the evening she lets them have free run of our side of the yard (block of 4 stables and the bit round the edge of our paddocks) to get some extra grass. fine. except they don't eat the grass they charge around like idiots and go up to my mare in her stable and lunge at her and scream, this stresses her out. the livery thinks this is funny. the problem is i can't go down after her and put mine away because she is there til 10 at night.

ETA the other night when i was there whlist they were out she had gone to her feild to poo pick and left them and they had gone round to the dump bit round the back or the stables which has the old barb wire ( from when they changed the fencing safely out of the way from where the horses would normallly go) so i had to go round there to make sure they didn't get tangles in it and cut themselves. i managed to get hold of the mare and was leading her away, then the gelding charges at me i had to let go of the mare and run as fast as i could up the muck heap at this point the livery was walking back from her feild laughing she didn't even ask if i was alright

the other thing is my gelding has had he's fair share of problems and she always has to put her 2p worth in and tell me i'm basicaly making it up (at the moment he has possible damaged his suspensory ligament, has seen the vet ect) for example today i was talking to another livery about making his pen smaller because he had been running around the day previous and she butts in saying his pen is small enough why do i want to make it smaller ect. i just feel like telling her to mind her own and butt out but i'm too polite.

sorry to rant but i am really getting to the end of my tether.

I would move, its ridiculous that your horse should have to put up with that when she is in her stable.

Re the other thing about the size of your horse's pen, its no business of theirs. I am afraid I would have to tell them so.

If I was you I would have words with the YO when she returns and if things dont substantially improve I would be looking around for other options

your YO really needs to get this owman under control...if she can't then i would look for somewhere else..as i've been advised many times on here its your hobby and this person is ruining your special time with your horses and, by the sound of it, endangering you too!!

to say anything, but this is one mad situation to have two horses running around at will, in what I can only see as a very dangerous place to be....I would say it will either be a person or horse that will suffer one very nasty accident,as the result of her animals antics....as for the way she butts in,I would tell her to butt out!

We had a livery who did the 'let the horse roam' thing and it was really dangerous. She has now been booted out of the yard after written warning first. The yard is so much nicer without her being there.

Speak to the owner as soon as they get back about the situation and tell them that if the situation doesn't improve you will be looking elsewhere for livery.

I left my last yard because someone did this with their horse. Property was damaged and my mare had a lucky escape.
