I really don't think my horse is too happy with his bit/noseband because he just doesn't seem very comfy. His teeth are fine. He is currently in a french link hanging cheek snaffle and I feel that he can be a little strong in it but it's more like he's leaning on me. He is reluctant to work on a contact and when he does he leans like mad. He is in a flash noseband because he always opens his gob. He's an appaloosa so has a sensitive mouth and every time after I ride it's always sore and his mouth is becoming hard. I was just wondering what you would suggest...

The only bit that I could use on my very sensitive chestnut TB was a nueu schule training bit, everything else i tried made her really sore. Might be worth a try.

Sometimes they become 'bulshy' and insensitive to the bit because it's too harsh for them. Depends on their temperament: some really back off the bit, others try to ignore it. Kalli is horrific to ride in a french link as it doesn't suit her mouth and she is strong and stressy and insensitive. Perfect in a bitless (proving she's not generally 'strong' ) so I played about until I found a bit she was happy in.

Didn't mind the magic bit (low port/cambridge snaffle) but is happiest in a curved thin single jointed snaffle - the Korsteel JP one (very nicely curved so no nutcracker).
