I am soooo angry! I know this may not sound like much to some people but it has really annoyed me! I have waited nearly a month for them to put the results on the website from a competition I went to in which I won a restricted section (all be it only at novice but still) and I look on the website to see that they have me in joint second with people that were entered on a ticket! I have a copy of the results from the day and proof that the person they say has beaten me and the person I was equal with were on tickets but is there any point in complaining?

I know it seems petty but when you don't get out very often and then you get a win you want it to be acknowledged! Ggrrrrr!

Sorry, rant over! Just had to vent! Coffee and cake for everyone!

BD does seem in quite a shambles these days! I really hope they buck their ideas up! I also had some results put down incorrectly (or maybe not) recently, but I moved up a couple of places instead of down.

I would let them know yes, it *might* be an honest mistake, as I think people on tickets don't go down on the system! I would def let them know

i might be wrong but don't they put the results on the website as if the open and restricted sections are combined? but on the day the two sections are placed seperately?

I may be wrong but I'd have thought if others have had records listed in BD then they would be registered members and so not need to compete on a ticket?

Or can you be a member and still compete on a ticket - why would you need to do this?

Confusing!

I don't think the horses were registered or at least thats what it said on the results that got sent out! I'm just a bit miffed! I know there is a statement on their website saying they are behind and trying to get all the results up but you'd think they would take time to look properly!

They do get results wrong sometimes but are really good at changing them. Drop them an email or call the person who deals with results. They will be listed on the contacts section of the BD site.

I’m new to BD (only been to one comp so far) and whilst I didn’t win I was chuffed with my 5th place, half decent score and 2 points. Like you I waited nearly 2 months for the results to be listed and when they eventually went up someone else was listed in 5th place. At first I thought maybe they had combined the sections, but the person in 5th had a lower score than me. So I checked mine / my horses records and it showed we had no results, i.e. hadn’t entered any events! So I dropped an email, didn’t hear anything, dropped another and a week later the results have been amended and my points added. They said they were behind, but they had definitely added the results of the comp minus me. Am going to be keeping a close eye on the results in future!

I too get irritated by the amount of time it takes them to load results, apparently they are setting up a new computer system to make it quicker, as they have to load every single result manually at the moment.....can you imagine how long that would take. So dull!!

I get annoyed that the high profile shows go on first.....

Ummm - what is the problem?

There's nothing wrong with what has been done as it is all according to the rules, those competing on class tickets are eligible to win prize money and rosettes but not qualify.

Try reading your Rule Book - it's on line, so easy enough - Rule 3

3. Class tickets
British Dressage members on non registered horses and non-members on registered or non registered horses will be able to buy class tickets at £7 each. Each ticket will enable them to enter one affiliated class. They must pay the entry fees and abide by the British Dressage Rule Book.

They will be able to win prize money and rosettes but will not be able to earn grading points or qualify for Championships other than Area Festivals............

Always a good idea to check facts before complaining.

My "problem" as you so kindly put it (jeez, people on here are so rude at times!) is that these people did not get placed - no rosettes, nothing and I won the section but it says that I came second on my record on the BD website when I won it - obviously, as I already said, to some people this may seem petty but to me it is a big deal!!

Maybe the person who was 1st had their sheet added up wrongly , it happened to us a couple of weeks ago and took sheet back to them they said they would sort it but the results in H&H still had us missing. We are waiting for the score to go on website

Ah - I see "Bl**dy BD!" "Grrrrr" and stating that you are ranting and venting isn't being rude.

Right - got it. I shall have to remember that for the future.

"rant" and "vent" OK - asking what the (not your) problem is, is not.

So - are you are stating that these two people were not placed by the venue and given their rightful rosettes, even though they scored more highly than you?

In which case, the venue is at fault and those people have every right to complain.

Or did they actually score lower and the results as sent in are wrong?

Yes, I quite agree, BD are a shambles look at the scoring muddle up at the Home International to name but one thing. We went to a local BD Team competition just the counties against each other and at the end there were only 4 placings given out and the rest of us weren't told were we had come. There was no score sheets up, we did manage to find out that we had done well in our test but not where we had come.

They really need to sort themselves out.

Well I just hope that one of them knows how to operate it then!!!

FWIW i think you are being quite rude as well :o if i;d won a class i'd be annoyed if it was listed wrongly on the website too- especially if it had taken so long to do it. at the end of the day competing (especially affiliated) is expensive and as part of that expense i expect a decent service...look at BE- all the results are all online within about 24 hours of an event- that IS great service. Plus if the OP was to sell her horse its important that its record is accurate.....

The point is though that people who enter BD on a ticket ARE entitled to the placing, the rosette and the prize money (I know this as we have won quite a few £££s and rosettes this way ;)) So the results that have gone up on the website sound as though they are in fact correct. The results on the day sound dubious tbh. Only if someone was competing in a training section should there results be discounted from a section as far as I am aware.

i know thats what i said on the first page....but thought i must have got wrong end of stick! but....if BD are wrong then its crap! and no need for saggitarius to be so rude! :o

No you have right end of stick :D
I don't think it is at the discretion of show centre either (whereas at BS I think the show centre can opt to award rosettes but not prize money to those on a ticket??)

They award results for each section - restricted or open and those are your placings that should go on the website. The prize money is done on your placing overall over both sections - so you could be 1st in the Restricted but 5th overall and not get any prize money.

Also BE may be quick but they aren't always right either. I got a result for an event I was not even at last year :eek: I did get it removed from my record though when I pointed it out :)

To be fair to BD the Home Counties scoring was down to the venue - not BD

Hang on. Be fair - that isnt down to BD central office (who load the results) but the individual organizers.

The HI was a simple mistake - the commentator was handed the wrong sheet of results. A mortifying error that could easily happen to any of us.

I think this thread is getting a little hysterical.

at BD, people on tickets are entitled to prize money, placings and rosettes. However, their results will not go on the BD website as they are not registered. Even if the rider is a member and using a ticket for the horse, the horse is not registered so cannot go on the database. So, in reply to the OP, it sounds like some kind of mix up at either the venue or BD about who actually won but if people appeared on the BD website they cannot have been riding on a ticket as BD doesn't record the results of unregistered people/horses.
The only people who wont get awarded prize money/rosettes/placings are those in the Training section.

Completely agree.

I had a mistake made once, I did not have a hissy fit but rang the BD office, it was put right the very same day.

I find our horses results take about 3 weeks to appear online, our 4th October results went up yesterday. It also depends on how quickly the show venue submit their results.

I personally think this is a show venue error because if these were 'on a ticket' riders/horses then they wouldn't be registered therefore no results could go on, hope you get to the bottom of it.

I think its a valid question asking if they scored higher than you, because if they did you may have your answer in that they may have actually been registered and wrongly put down as on a ticket, if they didn't score higher than you, then ring up BD. Whenever I have had a problem they have always been extremely helpful and they asked me to put it in writing and send it in and I had a return letter 2-3 days later, all sorted.
