Went on a hack today. I have to go down some narrow lanes really bendy so am always relieved to get throught them unscathed.
On a dead straight road, having passed some dog walkers in field on opposite side of river with a cheery hello, landrover with noisy trailer passes me from front at speed.
I'm swearing like a trooper, and my boy , bless him just walks on nicely.
Had to yell an apology to dog walkers for foul language. Dog walkers yelled back, 'we were swearing also, thought you were going to be mown down!
I would have turned round and gone home but didn't want to face nasty bends again as a circular ride.
Glad I didn't as had a lovely uneventful ride afer that. I'm not a really nervous rider but am seriously thinking of giving up hacking as so many near misses. I go out looking like a christmas tree so no excuse for not seeing me.
Both me and my boy would get so bored in the arena all the time though.
