Early this morning we heard the stallion making very amorous noises so went out to see what was going on.
The small herd of 8 horses mostly mares including several of his daughters had managed to slide open the huge barn doors after climbing up the muckheap to get near to the stabled horses Chocolate and William.
There was the most unbelievable mess.
They had got into the feed area, and eaten the entire contents of a bin of level grow (over £11 a bag..
)
A whole bin of Topspec balancer...
A whole bin of coarse mix.
Chewed into two bags of alfa A and taken bites out of three haylage bales..
Removed the lid from a tub of treats and scoffed the lot..
Knocked over the workmens' tea/coffee and eaten their biscuits.
spread an opened bale of haylage throughout the mess.
They ate a whole bucket of speedi beet but couldn't get in that bin as I always hook the closers over the lids..
They had peed all over the floor where the stallion was stabled, crapped just about everywhere feasible (a whole huge wheelbarrow full) and acted like kids in a sweet shop..
It took me two and a half hours to clean up the mess, disinfect the floor where the mares had wee'd and put all the bins/feedbowls back.
Oh yes, they toured all the empty stables too, just went in and out of them all for a nose..
It's immaculate again but guess who will have an electric fence round the muckheap from now on...
