I was recommended this for my cob but was wondering peoples opinions on them? What is the quality like? Also how nice are they to ride in - do they put you in an armchair position?

The saddler has a second hand one in that he's going to bring along next week to try on him. It is about 5-6 years old so probably not one of the newer models.

I ride my other horse in an Albion so does anyone know how they compare to that?

No idea as far as comparing with an Albion but my black country saddle is lovely, very comfortable to ride in and the leather still looks in good shape. I've had mine three years and bought it second hand from a tack shop. My saddle is quite straight cut so doesn't put me in an arm chair position

I love my Black Country too.
If the saddle fits you and the horse I don't see why it would put you in the wrong position

I also have a Black Country, mine is 3 years old and still looks brand new. Mine is the Wexford model so it's in between a gp and jump saddle. I find it very comfortable and made to a high standard.

I have two made to measure BC saddles for my highland, who's a chunk boy and not easy to fit. Excellent quality, fantastic service from the company, lovely to ride in. Couldn't be happier with them and my horse seems very happy in them too. (Have also owned an Albion, but not for this horse to be fair, and hated it .... ). I'd certainly consider it, new or second hand.

Love my Black Country saddle and it still looks great after years of use. There were only two saddles that fitted my cob (from a van full that the saddler brought with him) and the Black Country was the comfiest.
