Black hoof oil

For those of you who read my post yesterday on hoof oil. It was recommended that clear hoof oil is to be used at shows.

When would you use black? Or not at all?

Clear on white or stripy feet and black on black hooves.

i just picked up a tin of black oil today for filly , she has all black feet

I used black on my TBs - black feet. I use clear on my gypsy cobs - not that you can see much hoof under the feather. Black is not the done thing for natives and traditionals as I understand it.

I use black on my native who has stripey feet as the stripes are posistioned to make him look like his hooves turn in. black stops this.
