Just thought I'd ask! My horse who Ive had since he was 2 and is now 29 had black front hooves and nearly black back hooves when younger. His hooves have gradually changed to white over time. He has completely black legs apart from one tiny bit of white above his back hoof about an inch high- (always had this) and this hoof had a black stipe down it from day one!
His front feet were totally black and are now almost completely white!
It would suggest to me some sort of circulation problem similar to that which you get in the hair if there is pressure from the saddle for instance. He had lameness issues as a youngster but came sound and was ridden till he was 21 when he became uncomfortable again so was retired.
It doesnt bother me (or him!) but it does intrigue me!
Any suggestions welcome!
