Just wondered, after looking at a photo of my 3yr old dog, his nose was very black when he first came to me, now the top is rather pinky..is this somthing I should be worried over..or do they just do this/is it a symptom of anything? or maybe a deficiency? He gets his meals all home cooked for him & mostly all organic too..I do supplement with calcium in the form of eggshels & he is offered barley grass powder & spirulina powder to ensure he has access to all he needs. Any ideas? Front part of nose is still very black, the pinky bit to the top and where it merges with his fur is rather pale..he is pure white but with otherwise black points (most claws, lips, eye liner...no ..its his own eyeliner, I don't let him have any access to my Chanel liquid liner..he was born with his own!):D

Free Starbucks and cake for all who reply..I'm sure they will go along with it, but please all have a cake for me too while you're at it!:D:D

Thank you!:-) I'm not normally this neurotic..honest..its the rain & the extra time indoors with this rubbish weather that is making me prod & poke him more..poor dog!:o Glad I haven't broken him!:D

It does sound like what I would call winter nose (and CC calls snow nose:D), in which case its nothing to worry about, just a lack of sunshine and vitamin D, which we are all probably suffering from.

Quite normal and usually seasonal - my whitest, pink-skinned spotty dog keeps his black nose year round while my darker dog gets a stripey snow nose every winter.

Gorgeous pics Blackcob!:D Just tried to insert a pic but an rather rubbish!

I had wondered a bit more & checked back thru more pics..he was pink for the Olympics too..tho we have been short changed of Summer! I'm offering him black pepper oil as found out that (& yarrow which he prefers) are good for things like this..I found out since that plastic can cause this - bowls mainly, tho his are all metal,he wears a heavy duty black baskerville muzzle in the truck if I have to lead the horses (in case the seatbelts attack him then jump in his mouth):D so till summer happens(when ever that may be, i''l keep an eye & see..thank you very much...would rather hope it is snow nose! We'd be very happy with that!:D

Our yellow lab's nose was black when he came at 14 months, but is pinky mostly now, all year round too. The vet said a lot of yellow labs do that..
