Black or brown tack?

My decision on tack colour has always depended on the colour of the horse. My grey and white chap looks fab in black tack but I hated it on my dark bay mare. My roan boy looked nice in black but I preferred him in Australian Nut (lighter and redder than Havana). My little chestnut mare looked best in Havana.

Brown :) although a chestnut at our yard has a beautiful burgundy colour (I'm sure there's a proper name for if if somebody could enlighten me!). I don't think I'd like it on most, but it's stunning on him:

I always, always had brown (showing might have had something to do with it), on a dappled bay, a black and a chestnut. Now I have a piebald and she will be in black.

Depends on the horse's colour for me, but I almost always prefer brown. Black is nice on blue roans and greys with dark points though! My grey is pretty much totally white in winter so could go either way, but in summer he has a few fleabitten spots and brownish flecking on his points rather than grey, so looks nicer in brown I think!

I have a brown saddle, simply because when the saddle fitter came it suited me and my boy better than all the other saddles we tried.

Leo's tack is all black as he's dun with black legs and black mane/tail. I think it just looks smarter and i already had all black things for me (boots/chaps/hat). It also really bugs me when the browns don't match as its often difficult to get exactly the same colour brown:o :p
