Black Sunflower Seeds

My aunt and I need a little advice. My aunt's mare Silvy is due to give birth any day now (we are both sooooo excited!!!) and she has decided to start and give Silvy black sunflower seeds to help with her coat. Is it OK for Silvy to have these, even though she's in foal????

There is a post just a little further down the page asking the exact same thing (possibly on about the same mare) and people thought it would be best not to change her diet until she has foaled but they are ok to be fed.

What is my aunt like!!! I said I was gonna ask people's opinion on this issue. Looks like she's beat me to it!!!!

What about after Silvy's had her foal?????

Then they can be fed but I personally would introduce them gradually like with feed. Use the search button for sunflower seeds as I think I came across some topics about them, how much people feed and their affects on the forum a while ago.
