Black Sunflower Seeds

For those of you who feed these to your horses; how much do you feed, have just bought some for my ponies coat and hooves which are a bit tragic!

I use a mug full - but might cut down a little as I have gone on to hearts which are much more dense (more kernels per mug)

I give about half a mug in each feed.

Where do you get the hearts from Cotswold???

Local feed merchant - they are an extra £10 (so £30 for 20kgs), but I think you get more absorbed and more sunflower for your money!

Also if you buy bakery grade, you can steal some for yourself!!

I have never heard of feeding sunflower seeds, can i just buy sunflower hearts that the birds eat?
