We have a rather nice looking QH mare who we primarily ride western. She has had lots of time off from western (my fault-had an op) so sold her saddle as it was just sitting around, and the person who was riding her for me was using her english tack (which is brown!).

Now the time has come to start getting on board again so I was on the hunt for another western saddle. A reasonably priced one is available but it's black! She is a very pale chestnut (more red dun, not very orange) but I have no idea if it would look any good on her? Just wanted some opinions really! Her pads are red/orange so quite 'tonal'.

While i preferred brown tack on my old chestnut (in sig) she ended up in black when i bought a new saddle and looked just fine!

My chestnut has brown tack! I'm not keen on black on a chestnut...

It's just personal preferance really! I don't think it really matters what colour it is :)

My chestnut is in black tack. He used to be in brown but when all our tack was stolen from a previous yard I replaced it with black tack. I prefer black on him to brown but just my opinion!

My chestnut mare is in black tack. I prefer the look of the black tack on her but tbh my black saddle from last horse got amended to fit her so stayed with black.
