Black tack or brown tack?

When I was young, back when wheels were still square, everyone used brown tack and anyone using black tack was, well, quite common

I have mostly black tack these days, however I am looking for a new saddle and I can't decide which colour to go for.

Horse is conker bay with black points..input appreciated

I like black tack on bright bays with black points but it's really down to taste.

If you're planning on doing much showing you'll need brown tack but it otherwise doesn't matter.

Black is easier and cheaper to buy, and you don't need to worry about matching shades.....

Brown! Genie has brown tack and I think it looks fine on her! I'm afraid I'm not a fan of black tack.

I'd say find whatever fits the horse and then get a bridle to match.
