i hear galan du savage has been seen working in fantastic fashion in hong kong so any rumours of his not being quite right also appear to be a little premature x
Thanks Lu ! But tbh from seeing how he performed during the olympic prep in Normandy I wouldn't worry. (No such rumors here)
However, Nico must have been affected by the announcement yesterday that Mrs Girard-Claudon just passed away. She has been the loyal owner (since he was a junior) of most of his rides including Galan, Hildago and a few others.
Truly dedicated to eventing, it's a shame she will not see Galan and Nico run in HK...
Very sad to hear about Mme Girard-Claudon. Nico spoke of her as a partner in his and his father's business. I have only seen her pictured at one event. She really stayed in the background. What wonderful faith she had in Nico from the beginning.
Joker d'Helby is also one of the horses she owned that Nico rides. Blackeventer, do you know how Joker is doing after the spectular fall at CHIO July 5th.
I appreciate your interest Blackeventer. Not Old Europe but Old Lady, mainly stuck at home, with lots of time for the Internet.
I fell in love with Galan at Athens in 2004; shown on American TV at very odd hours. I taped it all and have enjoyed my tapes plus the DVD many times since. It has been a lot of fun to follow Nico and his career. Plus developing interest in many of the other Eventing riders.
Well Granfan, then you must enjoy following some of the American event riders as well.
My favorite and imo the most talented is the ex Aussie Philip Dutton !
