Well Blackie passed the vet yesterday so we are delivering him to his new home tomorrow, will really miss him but he's going to a lovely family and i'm sure he'll be spoilt rotten!!

The vet only picked up a few minor things: a small splint on the inside of one hind leg, a tiny bit of mud fever on one of his front legs and a small lump in each ear, i can't remember exactly what she called them but apparenlty they are very common and don't cause any problems.

I was exhausted by the end of it ad so was blacks!! I had to do the canter work to get his heart rate up and he's fitter than he looks!!! I also found it mentally tiring, i think because it's all quite stressful. Remind me never to sell a horse again!!!

Ive always thought that a vetting is more stressful for the owner as you must be so worried that the vet would find something bad that you had never known about. So I can understand how tired you felt.

Glad hes going to a nice home.

I can imagine how stressful a vetting must be for the owner, all that worrying they will find something,e ven though you have no reason to worry!
Plus knowing it means they are going.

It sounds like you have found him a lovely family, and he is a smashing boy so Im sure he will have a lovely home with them!

That's exactly what it was like, we didn't think there was anything wrong with him but you never do know. Plus the fact that typically he came in that morning with a cut on his face where one of the other horses had bit him!!! Luckily it was tiny and the new owners were fine about it but he's never had a single cut since we've had him and to get one on the morning of the vetting was a nightmare!!!

The family are so perfect fo him though and i know he'll be well loved!

I am planning to start looking for a horse for myself, that's why we had to sell him. I want a youngster that i can bring on to do a bit of dressage on.
