bladder problems following mild colic - anyone any ideas?

My mare devloped mild colic on Sunday, by Monday evening the colic symptoms had passed but she had not weed for over 24 hours. The vet emptied over a bucketful of urine from her and then she went 24 hours before weeing again, after a shot of bute, even though she was eating and drinking. She did have cystitis and was torn at stud last year but noone seems able to tell me what this could be. Anyone any ideas?

I'd be suspicious. Mild colic that resolves quickly and apparently easily might be masking an underlying worse gut problem. Is she pooing ok? Does she have a temperature? Doesn't the vet have any ideas?

No temperature, pooh, sparse, hard and small. Guts seem to be moving. Vet thinks might be cystitis

Just out of interest this was cystitis the symptom of which was colic, retention of urine, hard poohs, not drinking etc.
