if its any help her face book status (yes im sad) is "Lauren is thinking of ways to disguise her harry potter scars..."
im afraid im not much help as i did not see the fall etc but heard that the horse got trapped under a trakhener or something. Both are ok now i think
dont think that fall will have done much to the horse's confidence...

No idea what the status is now, but can tell you a bit about what happened. Horse went to take off at the fence (it was a huge hedge, taller than me, and I'm 5'6", with a ditch in front of it, and a take off rail that was 2 chunky logs, about 2ft or so). I was standing looking at the landing side of the fence. Horse went to take off, as I said, as I saw his (or her?) head lift up. Then looked like he thought "Jeez that's HUGE" and changed his mind, put down again, unfortunately nose diving into a deep and narrow ditch. I was standing with my friend who was the doctor for that fence. She set off at a run, horse ambulance not far behind. Anyway very quickly the rider crawled out but horse didn't get up. Docs report is rider had a cut to her head and was a bit dazed but didn't seem to have any serious injury (though of course hard to tell by visual exam only, she did go off in the on-course ambulance but didn't seem to have a serious injury). Horse still wasn't up, screens went up and we all started crying.... However a few mins later horse jumped up, nearly taking out a fence judge, and knocked one of the screens over. Crowd burst into applause, and I cried again

Horse was taken off in the horse ambulance, but was walking, very sore but seemingly sound enough. Apparently when winded like that, they don't actually start to panic until horse has been down for about an hour. Can you imagine sitting there for an hour waiting to see if your horse will get up

I'd be a wreck....

Hope they are both ok and no worse for their ordeal

Scary mary!

I can imagine the relief and emotion when the horse leapt up.

Fingers crossed, for everyone's speedy recovery - both physically and mentally!

I've seen this on the racecourse, and its amazing how silent everything becomes, and how the place erupts when the horse gets up and walks away.

its horrible isnt it. seeing the french horse last year at badders '07 i was at a couple of fences before hand but seeing the ambulances going hurtling to them made my stomach sick. i saw the replay and nearly threw up at home. urgh.
i had a horse fall and the horse was completely winded (still ontop of me unfortunately, spech as he was 17.2!) and it is horrible. i couldnt speak because i too was winded but it is the scariest thing
