Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Occult Spavin (Blind Spavin) in a horses hock and what the outcome was? My horse who I'd had high hopes for doing maybe 80k ride this year was slightly lame on his right hock, vet thinks it's Occult spavin as there was no changes to his hock on x ray but looked like normal Spavin lameness. He's had it injected with hyaluronic acid and my vet was very happy with him as he was 100% sound in 2 weeks, told me to work him as normal and didn't give me any restrictions. He has a very slight toe drag which worrys me tho that isn't new.
But after doing abit of reading on Google it's not sounding so good. Would really appreciate any info from anyone who knows or has a horse with hock problems and if they were able to continue with endurance and what helped keep them sound. Im gutted that maybe he wont be able to do endurance as we both love it and truly got the bug after doing really well last season but I don't want to keep training him if it's going to make him worse or I don't know if it's right to keep having him injected as that seems to be common from what I've been reading
