Further to the fabulous Sparkly Stressage thread..

I harbour a secret desire for Bling/MatchyMatchness but my outer self claims that my types of horse can't wear bling and are better in plain, hunterweight tack and sober colours. The closest I've got to bling in the last few years was coloured browbands for shown RH's and Hacks.

Horse and I always look clean, neat and tidy with a neatly pulled mane/tail, clean if plain, tack and colours that are sober and don't clash rather than matching, when I ride.

Should I throw caution to the wind and go for bling and matchyness ? Would it look totally ridiculous on a big hunter-type ? I would love to do it (loving Fig/CS turn out on that thread!) but..would it be silly?

Does anyone else bling out their 'not usually found in bling' type of horse ?

Any pics ?

my big warmblood boy has bling, he has a super blingy browband on his dressage bridle and his normal bridle is silver clinchered browband and sheepskin on the nose (grackle) he also has a sheepskin saddlecloth and tendon boots :-P cannot stand plain hunter tack

unfortunately mine was bling-ed the moment my name went on his paperwork  but then again, I have a dumb blood and not a hunter type.

anyways, bling away and post some pics :)

My horse would probably love some bling :D

I have him in plain havanna tack with boring brown saddlepads.

The only colour he sees is his hi-viz!!

have a sort of flashy warmblood, and a very flashy warmblood- both have their own matchymatchy sets, and blingy browbands. They share sets too.

However, my little coblet also has shares in the matchymatchy and bling. She looks cool and pulls it of very well =] ;)

Meeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my horse..

dafthoss love ur bridle, where is it from? Yer my husband has banned me from buying anymore pink for my boy, we are moving more towards red and black at min but i havent any photos!

I have adopted a traditional-bling hybrid approach as i have a native but we mainly do dressage - we have brown tack but his bridle is a dressage style and has a brass inlaid chain browband which is just enough to placate my inner magpie ("ohhh it's shiny") without undermining my horse's manly rugged air or enraging hardcore traditionalists ("it must be plain") too much.

I am too lazy for true matchy matchy though, bandaging takes so long!

Its actually made up of several bits :o. the head piece is from the cheap one I got when he arrived and the cheek pieces are from when he snapped the original ones :o, the browband was an ebay bargin but its a caldene one and very nice and the nose band is from another cheap bridle that was cheaper than buying a noseband on its own that I needed to show him :o. The bit was my friends that was coated by dads work so he wanted photos of it for some adverts hence the shiney gold bit before I gave it back to her.

Sorry thats probably not much help.

I Like the way the crystals are inset into a flatter browband... um ebay here i come!

I have a bay irish x gelding, he has a set of 4 pink leather jumping boots, pink or reach boots, pink sparkly browband, pink saddle cloth all for home, jw bridle with sparkly nose and browband, saddle cloth and rugs in grey with pink edging for shows :) My daughters miniature gelding is also in pink, my sons mare is in blue!!

I have a grey connemara, who owns 3/4 matchy sets, and a purple cavallo crystal browband. He also has white bandages and saddlecloth for his dressage outings :D
We do showing too, all sober brown tack, tweed and plain ;)
But when I am at home, I like to have a bit of fun (when I can be bothered to bandage :P), and I like sparkles :D
He may be a native pony, but we like bling too ;)

Neddy the plain ol' Standardbred gets kitted out in any kind of matchy/bling I can find!
He's all red and black (Ok, red, black and hi-viz since we're hacking a lot) and I often find none-typical things to put on him. He's got a heart bead thing sewn into his brow band, a chinese tassel on his hi-viz breast plate and he'll soon have some more tassels for the bottom ring of his 3 ring gag :P
I love the look of Chinese decorations, so seems only right to decorate the horse, within reason!
I'll have to get some pics of his Chinese stuff soon, I can't find any!!

He also does matchy matchy in yellow, black and purple  I need to stop buying stuff

The closest I get to bling is an inset chain on my browband- and matchy matchy is xc- everything black and gold! Otherwise its brown or bottle green or navy- nothing particularly fancy on my natives :p :)

The closest I get to bling is a steel clencher browband for dressage, or a plaited browband for showing..... (She does have a lovely Elevator bridle for dressage, with a raised noseband and everyfing... :D)
We even dressage in a black square - but when you are a coloured native, Dales type, things get a bit complicated with matchy matchy.....
