bling on riding hats ?

hi everyone. just wondered is anyone has got a blinged out hat ? i'm doing a bit of research as i'm thinking of doing it part time (ebay and localy) mainly on the gpa's, ventairs, gr8's and just togs showjumper. .......so
would you have it done?
How much would you pay?

I personally wouldn't want a blinged up hat. BUT, I'm like some others on here as in I like traditional havanna tack, plain numnahs, beige or canary jods & loathe any pink accessories for my horse. Except maybe brushes.

I can see some children, especially little girls, liking it. My sister would I think & she's 10. Or SJ'ers possibly would wear them training etc.

I don't know if the manufacturers are the same as with motorcycle helmets but if they are, as soon as you stick anything on the helmet they cease to guarantee the integrity of the helmet. They worry about the effect of any adhesives on the structure of the helmet (Solvents etc)

Angharad, if that was the case then what about blinged up hat covers? You'd probs make a better return on those too plus the silks come in lots of base colours so you could do something to everyones taste.

I hate bling so wouldn't have any sort but if somebody quite liked it but wanted a toned down version then you could do the silk fairly easily I would have thought.

i thought that about the silks but found that getting the stipes on gpa's and similar harder to come by. i've also found a way of doing it that wont affect the hat material. I did it to my old just togs showjumper about a year ago and pulled them off two days ago to find no damage done.

Wouldnt have it personally, not because I have anything againt bling but because I would find it slightly embarrassing to have such a flashy hat but ride like cr*p. I can see kids liking them tho.
There is a company that sells strips like on the GPA hats that have bling on them .. cant remember where Ive seen them ...

Yeah, there is a company that sells the strips for GPA's. I got a stip pack from the USA for ITH hats they have (GPA copies). They were ok, but they did crease doing on so I havent done my new GPA. I wouldnt pay for it TBH. Although, I do know of some USA peeps who do it (decorate with diamantes etc.). But TBH you'd never be allowed it for Pony Club or anything here, only BSJA or home use I guess so it kinda limits the market.
