Iv got a very anxious scary cat off a ex racer, he's very differcult to ride as he's scared off everything even his own shadow and that's no joke. Strange thing is he will go past tractors, headge cutters etc no problem but it's leaves, grass, birds, rabbits just everything. There is no malace in him and will not buck or rear. He won't walk or trott forward without him constantly moving underneath you and it's that bad that u can't rise to his trott. I hunted him last year and was brill a different horse but it's hacking alone and in company. It seems to be things at the sides he looks at so wondered about blinkers/cheek pieces but can't find any blinkers for sale. Any ideas welcome.

How long have you had him? I'd say go back to basics, reschool and work on brombproofing - tarps, lunging, long lining out, making him lead out with another horse, correct schooling, engaging his hing quarters, fore-hand, ride and lead him from another horse, etc. Go back to treating him how you would a baby.

And I'd get his eyesight checked too to see if he has limited vision.

sheepskin rolls on his bridle often known as cant see backs
might work on the cheeks and nose
