Rage, rage, against the dying of the light.
I have a neurotic horse who is frightened of the whip, although he has got better. Today I led my young horse off him and he was frightened of the lead rope! I think he thought I was going to hit him as my arm was slightly out. He got more and more tense and exploded in the end. I will try to desensitise him - I took him for a hack with the lead rope and eventually could twirl it around and rub his quarters with it with no reaction which I will keep doing - but I wondered if something to stop him seeing it might help?
