Does anyone manage to get this or any similar bedding delivered direct to yard by the pallet load?

Just wondering what the general cost tends to be, a few of us at our yard are now bedding on chopped straw bedding (bliss, sundown etc) and would like to see if we can source it any cheaper.

Thanks xx

I went straight to the factory for Sundown yellow but they wouldn't entertain me having a whole lorry load because there is a stockist near me. To add insult to injury (is my money not good enough, they had already said they would supply a single lorry load) they rang up my stockist and told him who I was so I got tackled for trying to source it cheaper from somewhere else! I thought it was a free market and I could shop around for better prices? So if you are near a stockist, then on that I would say you've got no chance. If you do and you manage a load, I'd love to know so I can have another go.

I get Bliss delivered by a local supplier, last time I had a load it was £5.60 a bag, but I think its gone up since. Just used my last bag so have to order some more!

i use sundown red and my supplier is finding it hard to source so not sure what i will be doing

Well I heard from my supplier of bliss (which i get from them for £6.60 ish a bale) that the guy that runs sundown isn't a registered co or something which is why there is trouble getting a reliable supply. I used to bed on sundown red until i couldn't get it anymore....i did ring them about buying direct and said where i was and they didn't say anything about my local stockist, however i was told that they had a backlog of deliveries until may time????

We have tried the company that does the koala bedding, but by the time the delivery charge was added on it came to about the same price per bale so we didn't think there was really any point. I may e-mail the bliss people and see what they say...

I've used Dixons Dustless (£4.95 per bale), don't know if they deliver direct (as get mine from local stockist), but might be worth a try.
