Abs has been getting her absese poulticed since last friday and it seems to be clearing well, after the vet coming and the farrier having to dig quite deep he said there could be some blood. today there was some blood on the poultice not enough to make me call the vet or anything just a bit where it was dug out. shes been out in the field with the poultice duck taped etc and has been galloping about a fair bit, would it be this tht caused more blood to come out??

her foot looks miles better but just wanna make sure its nothing to be concerned about??

Sounds fine to me.
A little bit of bleeding is normal, when the farrier/vet have opened out an abscess (don't worry your horse has nearly 50 litres of blood left

).
Keep poulticing it, to keep the dirt out, and help it to heal cleanly.
If you are in any doubt - more pus/blood appears, swelling moves up the leg, the foot feels hot, or she gets lamer, call the vet back just to be safe.

when do u think i should stop poulticing it??

Stop when there's nothing left on the poultice. The blood is from the edge of the abscess, so that is a good sign that it is healing well. Where in the foot is it, because if it is in the hoof (rather than soft tissue) hydrogen peroxide works wonders for flushing out the last of the gunk. Buy a bottle and an empty plastic syringe from the pharmacy and syringe it into the hole. Recommended to me by farrier and worked a treat.
