Bear started peeing blood, so he was straight down to the surgery from his first river walk of the year. The vet was horrified at the colour. Given the colour, I thought trauma. It was checked and blood taken. After an anxious couple of hours, he was peeing clear. I think it was trauma from repeated jumping into the river from the bank. He's bright, has had anti-inflammatory.

His phosphate levels are a little low. Absorption is increased by vitamin D, so I might buy some tablets, although he will be in the garden for the next two weeks as I'm off. I'm surprised given the biggest source of phosphate is meat, fish etc.

Poor little lad has been on my knee all evening. This is his fifth accident to my recollection. He motorbikes round the woods, so we don't go often so the river seemed safer!

Aww don't beat yourself up, stuff happens and I would think that's a million to one chance that he would hurt himself like that.

I once nearly exploded my dog's bladder at a hydrotherapy pool!! She was merrily throwing herself off the side, chasing various toys in the water but none of us realised she was swallowing half the pool water until she suddenly doubled in size.
