Hi, My horse had a suspected urine infection, was given bute and antibiotics, he also had bloods taken, vet gave me the option and as I'm a worrier I wanted to make sure, results come back and his bilirubin is 90?! been reading up on the internet and scaring myself to death!
He had breakfast at half 6, went out late that morning as he had the farrier, he normally goes out to play with his pals at 8:30 and ended up staying in till 11:30, I then left him out to play, Big field with 4 other horses and brought him in about one pm to go for a ride, went for just a gentle plod round fields, got him back brushed him and was sweeping up and noticed his wee was a funny colour, called vet, took a sample and then ran it up to vets, vet arrived about 7 (ish) so he had a bit of a different day!
Anyone had any similar experiences?
Vet coming out again tomorrow, what should I expect and any questions I should be asking?

Increased bilirubin alone in horses is not serious. It happens very easily if the horse is simply hungry with observed "normal" values up to 200 mmo/l. It is only a worry if other liver indicators are also raised.
