Well this is what we're now attacking the damn thing with, so far it appears to be having an effect - I think we're on day 4 or 5 and as expected we had a little swelling which became quite sore and now the skin has come off around it and the sarcoid is exposed - looks like the inside of your mouth and the sarcoid is like a hard gland - about 1/4 of the size I was expecting. Yesterday it started to look a little "puss-y" which I was told is common and apparently it will start to heal up now and the sarcoid *should* come off within the next 10 days.

Anyone used it before - does this sound about right (Lady from Newmarket Premixes (the supplier) said that this reaction is good and normal?!)

We spoke before about this ointment and yes it does continue to look sore, but do carry on with it because it was excellant and got rid completly in about six weeks, sometimes the top of the sarcoid comes off when applying the cream but just carry on puttin it on even if it looks raw, good luck with it

Sorry, why are you using this? Did the sarcoid get yucky or something? Or are you just trying to get rid of it?

If its gone raw and oozy - I used Cut Heal gel on it which cleared it up so quickly and also made it smaller than it was before (dont know how!).

Failing that, if you're just trying to get rid of one then what about that Liverpool cream vets prescribe? Thats meant to be proven to get rid.

She'd had it for 18 months without any problems but then while I was away the flies got to it and it became sore and angry looking and got a little bigger. Vet had a look and although he mentioned liverpool cream as an option we decided to try the Newmarket Bloodroot Ointment first as he'd had some sucess with it before - he warned me (as have the suppliers) to expect the area to become swollen and sore and that it would get noticeably worse before getting better (apparently this is good as it shows its working?!) but I was still a little alarmed by how bad it became so quickly and wondered if other people had used it with similar effects - and if if it worked!

Its now crusted over nicely and while still a little sore it is already 100x better than it was and Im hoping that I'll be able to start hacking her out again this week (will see how she goes in a saddle on the lunge first).
