As some of you may know, I'm currently having a less than happy time with my gelding. Well, up at the yard yesterday one of the other liveries came to have a chat with me. This is only the second time I've spoken to her and she knows nothing about me or my horses. She proceeded to inform me that my gelding probably needed someone with more experience! I guess over 30 years riding, many years owning horses and backing and breaking the horse ridden by her mate at 100mph (

) pales into insignificance against her 2 years of owning a ploddy cob..........

I'm the first to admit I'm not the world's bravest rider, but I could really do without someone who knows absolutely nothing about me telling me what's best for my horses!

Especially when I haven't even asked for their opinion.

Rant over, thanks for reading!

Ignore her, every yard has one, sometimes more if you are particularly unlucky !!.
I used to get a bit uptight about this sort of thing, but now I quite enjoy winding know it alls up, it can be very entertaining if you are feeling a bit naughty

Oh, she probably didn't mean anything by and I'm probably being a bit oversensitive, but why can't these people just keep their opinions to themselves? I wouldn't dream of dishing out advice to her, or anyone else, about their horses unless I was asked.

My Dad was great. You always get one at a show too. We've always had difficult horses because we couldn't afford anything else. When my dad use to hear someone mouthing off outside the ring saying that they could do better, he use to take the pony over to them, hand them the reins and then said ''go on then if you think you can do better'' they turned bright red and apologised. All mouth.
