So, I'm sat here, typing, quietly getting on with my work, the dog is behind me, on his side asleep and we're both happy.

Suddenly there is a horrible weird howl/yelp from behind me, spin round expecting to find the dog having a heart attack or something to find the dog having clearly just woken up from some doggydream. Then because I spun round so quickly, he leapt up, span round himself and started barking at where he'd been sat :special:

My heart is going like the clappers - I am nearing a heart attack, never mind the dog - my knees have gone weak and I am actually shaking, it was a truly horrible noise.

The dog? He's fast asleep on his back now

LOL Herman is generally pretty quiet apart from the grunting he does when he gets into a particularly comfy position or if I tell him he needs to move once he's got comfy! Honestly, he sounds like a grotty teenager been told to get up on a morning!

My heart still isn't right, how embarrassing! He's now under my desk with his head on my foot so hopefully I'll get some prewarning of any untoward noises he feels like making!

Henry has a grunting pig toy, which he keeps leaving in strategic postitions for me to tread / sit on
