Winston has cut his foot on the foreleg along the coronet band - hes managed to slice it some how whilst out in teh field yesterday.

I have flushed it with salty water and put a dry poultice last night and this morning. Theres no heat but it does open up if he walks on it GAHHH!!

I have now stopped poulticing and applied dry gauze in its place to keep the wound clean - i would love to allow the air to get to it, however hes stabled and i dont want straw getting into it.
I have applied some cream - but not sure what else i can do.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm. Corroy did the same thing to herself, whilst trying to beat someone else up

. I just put an over reach boot on it and made sure it was kept really clean. My friends horse has had the same thing and it's been bandaged constantly, he is now on his 7th week of box rest. I think your better letter the air get to it.

Well I perhaps will leave the bed up tomorrow and let him stand in on concrete just so the foot has chance!.

Thanks hunny. Ill perhaps let this antibotic cream do some work first and then see how it is in the morning

I would, she was riding him and we moved yards in between all this and he has gone a tad mad, so she can't ride him now. Coza's took ages to heal, but I just cleaned it every night and still rode and turned her out.
