Just a quick enquiry, I'm entered for the Hunter Trial there next weekend in the open class, however the last time I walked the open course I was potentially doing it on a 13hh pony and it was before I'd ever even jumped a hedge, all I remember was that it seemed absolutely huge and the hedges seemed very meaty - am I remembering it bigger than it was or have I now entered for something that may push my pony to her limits?! so... has anyone on here jumped it? or even better do you have any pictures of you jumping it?

Thank you!!

Emily xx

ive jumped round the 3'3'' - i think that is the open?? i went round it on a 15hher and it was BIG (but then it was my first ever 3'3'' XC and i was 13. Jumped beautifully but it was a bold track - the kind you have to steer and kick!! went round clear - rode really nicely

are you going round on a 13hher this time??

this is me jumping one of the hedges:

Ye, I remember it as a big, bold, galloping course, which suits my pony much better than a technical one, I just can't decide whether I would have been safer to enter for the Intermediate and know I will get round easily or whether I'm right to push her and jump the Open, which at 3ft3' will be her biggest course yet... all I can remember in my head are big wide hedges and its worrying me!! But everything looked big last year on a 13hh midget!!

Thank you for your help

hattikins - that hedge looks huge!! oh help!! not on the 13hher this time, upgraded a mere hand to 14hh, so not much better!! she's jumped a lot of hedges and likes big bold tracks, I just dont know whether she can cope with a whole track thats quite as bold as Blue Anchor if that makes sense?! She's actually jumped a lot of the Blue Anchor hedges - I just don't know whether she can cope with them all in one go!!

Do you remember which hedge that was? I know it may be a while back to remember and very difficult to describe - its only because I remember last years course and I know there a particular few I am worrying about!! Don't worry if you have no idea!!

thank you!!

the hedges are huge but I think they ride fairly well, it is a meaty course and is used I believe with some hunts during the hunt season

Think its the same people who own East Bysshe - I may be very wrong though!! So if you can find the East Bysshe phone number....

There was an open day there last year after all the hunter trials had finished, and I know Horley & District Riding Club do XC clinics there - was supposed to be one this weekend but they changed it to last weekend, and I only found out yesterday otherwise I would have gone last weekend and I wouldn't be panicking now!!

From what I remember about Blindley Heath it's all huge hedges with wide ditches in front of and behind, but I've not been there for a good few years now.

East Bysshe much like the modern day Hunter Trial. Not up to height from what I remember, but again, haven't been there for a couple of years
