Has anyone been to Blue Anchor (near East Byshe, Blindley Heath) recently? Does it have a good selection and variation of xc jumps training/intro height? I know its famous for its hedges but am hoping there is more there than just hedges? Never been there at all so any opinions or info much appreciated!

Went a couple of years ago, very much a traditional hunter trial type course, so fences a mish mash, mostly very inviting though. Hedges are only in the open I think, the other fences weren't up to height (think they have sunk into the ground over the years) was very friendly and a nice course for a novice horse and a bit of fun for an older horse

If you are looking at Blue Anchor then have a look at East Bysshe which is about 10 mins from BA. They have some lovely small jumps :)

Its a clinic thats being organised by one of the local courses, always looks nice from the road but don't know anyone thats been there :( Thanks for all your help, fingers crossed it'll be ok :)

It is a lovely traditional hunter trial type course - hedges, barrels, logs, simple water crossing etc - but might be disappointing if you were looking for more technical, eventing type fences.
