Me and my hairy stinky ponio have somehow managed to qualify for the Festival of Champions in the In-Hand Best Condition class

Sooooo....I don't know if we're actually going to go, I don't really know anything about it.

Will the classes be massive? Will they be full of very posh professional type horses and ponies? Will I be the only one there with a hairy coblet amongst a load of shiny plaited and preened beasties?

And...erm...I don't really know the details of how Best Condition is judged?!

Well done though, you should go, even if it is just for the experience

It's in a month's time at Arena UK...he will be getting his winter coat then so might look quite fluffy, I don't know if they'd mark us down for that. Would quite like to go for the experience but not if we're going to look completely out of place...

You should go, you wont be out of place at all, the show caters for all types. Its very well run, and good fun. Not sure of the format at Arena UK but at Harrogate on Fri there were additional qualifying classes which you can use as warm up/practice runs.

You should definitely go - I've been to the north west one (used to be at Valiants) for the last two years with my mare, and had a gret time. The standard has been mixed, but no producers as far as I've seen - just lots of people who are proud of their horses. It has always been very friendly too - not too scary!
The atmosphere is usually great, lots of supporters and applause, lady with a microphone doing interviews, and really nice rosettes, sashes and plaques.
I would have liked to have gone to Arena UK but I think it clashes with UK Showing, which is closer for us.

Have a great time!

Definately give it a go!

Rosettes for everyone and a fantastic atmosphere!

It doesn't matter what standard you are just be proud of your pony and enjoy yourself.

I was lucky enough to win supreme of show at the spring one this year and as you can imagine I was thrilled, however, I didn't come out of the ring with tears of happiness like I did the year before when my home bred mare got a top 10 rosette!

The point I am trying to get across is that you can have just as much fun at this show whether you come first or last.
