Blue Chip Karma

I really rate it. I feed it 3 days before a comp in double doses and then on the day and end up with a chilled horse. It also has the active ingrediant Tryptophen (Sp??) which many do not.

Hi, I have used it on two different horses with varying results. I initially used it on a young horse who was being rather spooky and silly and it had no effect whatsoever.

I did however take the opportunity of trying it on my 14 year old Thoroughbred who thinks he is 2. It was in April/May when he always seems to go completely whappy with the grass coming through and it really did chill him out. I did use it everyday for a period of time, but he is now out at night and in in the day so is far more chilled anyway at the moment, so I have stopped using it daily. I will give a dose of it though prior to going to a show.

Having tried lots of calmers with this particular horse, I know it is expensive trying them all, but I really believe that one 'clicks' with each horse and what works for one, doesn't for another. Good luck.

Rate it highly as it has the dual active ingredients of magnesium and l-tryptophan.

Some are critical of using l-tryptophan but I've discussed it with my vet and am happy with it.

I actually use so kalm plus which has a higher amount of both activie ingredients then karma.

Agree with others though, different ones work for different horses so it is a bit trial and error. Thats the trouble with Blue Chip Karma you have to buy a whole bottle to try and see if it works.
