Blue piping?

Title is: Blue piping, What is it? and why use it? I remember some one telling some one else to use it on there horse. I belive from a different thread its harsh? And ild never use it on my horse whether u guys say its ok or not, what is it and what does it look like? Any pictures appreciate.

It's a bit of blue pipe

used like a stick, but makes a loud noise...wouldn't say it hurts them any more then a stick but it's often used on breakers as the noise helps send them forward.
 
Not sure, i remember reading a post about her horse being stlen and the people berating it with blue pipe, thats whats made me see a bad opinion on it,

more than one? you greedy thing! If you are worried about their sensitive skin try white spirit - we used to put it on the ponies to prevent girth galls.

Thanks for the tip...I had been using Ben and Jerry's ice cream...but I see my error now.

We use it on stubborn cows to make them go in the cattle crush. Makes a huge racket but doesn't really hurt them. Also use it to keep control of the bulls when they are servicing a cow.

Have never used it on a horse though.
 
LOL!! Polypipe doesn't hurt - I know I've whacked myself with it loads of times when I've been laying water pipes.
 
"Mr Blue-Pipe" is a good friend of mine...is VERY useful in some situations....

only used with bolshy cobs/horses above their station..and only once or twice on the chest....they soon get the messge
