So last week Bob the eventer made the long journey from Tamworth up to Blair Castle for his first 3*L!
As ever with Bob, the run up hadn't been as straight forward as you'd hope, with him managing to fall over in the field the previous week and ending up quite sore. Thankfully with some rest and a bit of swimming he was on good form.
So Wednesday was the trot up, which he looked stunning for!
Thursday afternoon dressage, its not really his strong point, though he is getting there. Not the best of scores leaving him second last but its a work in progress.
Had a bit of a jump on Friday morning and behaved like a bit of a knob. The actual jumping wasn't too bad though he did terrify the steward who was watching.
Walked the course in the afternoon, wow it was pretty big, and those hills!
So Saturday afternoon came round, was feeling pretty sick by this point. The course always causes enough problems at Blair, and you're never quite sure how they'll cope. But he was a machine, flying round only two seconds over. And flying up the leader board and into 4th over night!
Sunday morning trot up, very pleased with himself and managed not to think about flattening the judges.
Then onto showjumping, course looked pretty big but jumping quite well. Its not always Bobs favourite phase, but he seriously pulled his socks up to only have two down, ending up in 6th place, and earning a spot in the mounted prize giving.
