Body/Back Protector

Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on the best ones - specifically look for a lightweight one that will fit nicely under a jacket?

she means that there are no small lighweight ones that you wouldn't be able to see under a jacket. Apart from maybe the kind that jockeys wear but they offer little protection

I have a Just Toggs one and it's comfy to wear. It's like the rasesafe one in that it's made of hinged sections, but is solid on the outside. A lot cheaper than a racesafe and the best bit is that there is a hinged bit at the back so you don't catch the back of the saddle.
If they fit properly you quickly forget you are wearing it, but hard to hide under a jacket as they are bulky. Mountain horse make a jacket with built in protection.

Racesafe 2000 are light weight, flexible and offer good protection, but they are one of the more expensive body protectors. They do come in a variety of sizes though ie, short back, long back etc.

I have a Jack Ellis one that is quite lightweight and small.
