Any recommendations to a good comfortable body protector? I'd love a race safe one but just can't afford it, more looking around the £50 mark, it's only for xc as you have to wear one and we are going in august! Thanks :D

I got a Dublin one for twenty quid off eBay, it felt really bulky at first but used to it now as it has moulded and wear it all the time on 4 year old just in case. It does however boff me on the chin quite often when I get off, right on the nose last time, eye watering sending me backwards!!

I have a Kan Teq one and would definitely recommend it, although massively over your budget, they are so comfortable and because the material used hardens upon impact and then softens should you have a fall, they are actually much more cost effective in the long run! And they are made to measure and not at all bulky or restrictive!

Thanks everyone, my plan was just to get a cheap one to get me to xc courses and then if my and my neddy enjoy it then getting a decent one for about £200 for my birthday end of nov. I was thinking about a race safe but if kan is better how much would I be looking at? X

I think the Kans are about £230?? Could be wrong... I have a racesafe & love it, sorry not much help ! - I couldn't find a cheaper comfy alternative when I was looking for a BP but I'm sure they exist! x

I have a racesafe euro, its not the best looki g by a long way and I hardly wear it, but I had to for a riding club cross country lesson, and to be honest forgot I had it on. It was a kids xl and cost me £34, but I think even the adults ones are around the £50 mark. If you aren't planning on wearing it often, it's a good stand by, and is compliant to the 2000 regs, although I think they may have updated them in 2010, but it is still ok.
