Just a general question first - would you buy a used body proctector off ebay if they said it was in good condition?

Has anyone recently bought an exo body cage and if so where did you get one from?

If you did, do you mind telling me what size you are and what size you bought?

I have emailed woofwear directly to ask if they still did the exo and to see where nearest stockists were - Ialso gave them my measurements - and they e-mailed me straight back same day to say that I must have measured wrong and could I recheck and then they'd be able to tell me where to go. I did that yesterday but have heard nothing back. There is one for sale on ebay but I'm not sure whether to bid or not.

O.k any replies on any of the above questions and my general ramblings would be good.

D1 has one :D.

She has size A3.

She is about a size 10/12. Very slim, but broad shoulders. No stomach .

They tend not to fit the curvier shape from what I've heard.....

Bought from Eland Lodge. Had it fitted. Woof Wear were great when 'something' happened to one of the clasps. Replaced it immediately with a brand new Exo.

D1 seems happy to jump, hack, school, etc. in it. Rides all sorts of horses and ponies. Says she likes it. Only drawback is turning to look back, has to twist body more.

It rests on the shoulders and round the rib cage, so isn't as restrictive feeling as some other BPs. I tried one on, but just a bit too much stomach(!!), so couldn't have one. I'm going to get a Kan Teq when I can ride again :D

Thank you so much for your reply - I get so used to being ignored on here and I'm sure not all my posts are stupid and boring :) - should have known you'd be fab and reply *huge hugs*

I'm a size 12 and have a 34dd chest. The measurements seem to point towards a A4 (which is the same as one for sale on ebay) but I'm a tiny 5ft 1 and they say they're 5ft 6.

Eland Lodge is not a million miles away from me so might pop there. I was unsure if they still sold them as every saddlers seems to stock the point 2 instead now arrrrggghhh I hate those!!! I'll give them a ring tomorrow...thanks again, how's your dizzy one? I also like the Kan Teq, that and the racesafe will be my next step if I can't get an exo.

If you're interested, Aivly have the Kanteq's for short people (the 'T' sizes) for £100 at the moment in the smaller sizes. I just got one, and am very pleased with it - love a bargain! Not sure they've got many left though.

Hm. You'll have to watch the length of it. If the one on Ebay fit the taller person, unless you have matching back lengths... I can't remember the details as we bought D1's over a year ago now.

Eland no longer stock the Exo (yes, they have the Point 2 as well), but are experienced at measuring. They'll order in what you need.

Unless you have a paranoia about rotational falls, as I do brrrr, you might want to try the Kan Teq that G has mentioned. They get a good rating from some of the competition people on here (Kerilli(sp!) springs to mind). They are moulded for the female shape as well. D1 has fairly subtle curves shall we say :)

And your posts aren't boring! You keep posting hun, I'll look for them :)

Not heard of Aivly before...I'll have a google, thanks for that. If they're a £100 might be worth getting one as a back up for everyday stuff.

Might head to Eland Lodge if they can measure me and order in, I'll give them a ring then. I'm paranoid about everything :) My horse, when she is not ill, is fairly green and spirited....she's chestnut so I make some allowances. My cob is just a lazy bugger and leaves legs all over the place.

Teach and Gingerbrat: Seems like the thumbs up for this protector then...I've never had any before so it's good getting the feedback. I'd been saying for ages I'd try to get an exo and then started concentrating on dressage and then my mare went sick so haven't really looked at any types of protectors but I'm starting to get back into jumping with my cob.

Thanks for your input, I'll try a Kan Teq on, think they do them at my local tackshop.

Bumping this in the vein hope Kerilli sees this.

If she doesn't - give her a pm as is very knowledeable re: the exo :)
