Hi,

I am doing a 2 day event at the end of June, and suddenly realised I don't have a body protector!!
I really like the Rodney Powell, but am waiting to find out what size I am. I love the idea of choosing the colour, but they say it takes 6 wks, which is going to be tight time wise!
Anyone recommend a good, purple label protector with shoulder pads? I am quite small, so don't want to be smothered with padding too much!!

Thanks guys!

Go to a tack shop/saddlery that has a choice of 4 or 5 different makes and styles. The only way to buy one is to try them on and find the one that fits you best - they all have lots of different fittings now. A decent tack shop will also be trained to make sure they fit you properly.

Worth it as your safety and protection is so important.

Ask for a BETA-trained assistant when you visit your tackshop. They can give you a personlised fitting, usually free. Importantly, BETA trains retailers in the fitting, safety standards and correct use of all brands of body protectors. There's also been a revision to the BETA standard - to BETA 2009. However, BPs meeting BETA 2000 standard are still very much safe and 'legal' in competition.

I have just been and bought myself a new one (breaking in a youngster!) and I wanted one with the shoulder parts as I broke my shoulder (falling off my old horse!) when I was younger.
I fell in love with the racesafe - but they don't come with the shoulders.
I ended up getting a made to measure airowear.

I love the RS2000 - got mine from Treehouse. I don't think they take that long and they really helpful on the phone with sizes etc.

I got a Rodney Powell made to measure in my colours, from ordering at the stocklist, it arrived within 3 days! I'm not sure if I was just lucky with how fast it was, but I doubt it would take them 6 weeks, I think you would be fine for the end of June
