Is it frowned upon at all if you go to a meet and wear you body protector over your jacket?

Also is it a complete no no to wear a black jacket and navy BP?

O wouldn't think u will be sent home for it!! To be fair you are goin to be safer in it and obvisouly want to wear a bp, if u go out more than u could poss purchase a larger jacket so that u can wear your bp under your jacket, what do u do at shows out off interest??

The kids tend to do this, so there should be no reason for you not to wear it over the top of your jacket, however it does look smarter underneath. However best to be safe than sorry.

At a show I wouldn't really bother with my body protector, it's just that my OH is not happy at all about me going out on my big lad hunting (he gets a bit over excited) and it's his first go since autumn hunting months ago. He's said he'll feel much happier if I wear my BP.

I would wear it eventing over my jacket in the showjumping if I felt worried on a horse but just want to get everything right out hunting so I don't let the side down.

I wear my black BP over my black jacket atm, noone seems to mind

I cant' wear a bigger jacket due to inability to then move arms at all doing it that way round!

I have been hunting for 40 years and to be honest,it never occured to me that anyone might consider wearing a BP over a jacket wrong. I find it very upsetting when riders get hurt out huntingI do not enjoy stretcher carrying or waiting for ambulance/helicopter.It rather ruins the day. So anything that helps you bounce and hop back in the saddle is smart to me.

Only in America. The Yanks are obsessed with hunting dress and etiquette. British hunts are MUCH more relaxed. As long as you're tidy, shut gates, and don't kick hounds or ride over crops, almost anything else goes!
