Bogey time?

When it says run against bogey time what does it mean?

Norally the organisers set a time and the closest to it wins, anything faster gets x seconds penalty for being too fast and anything slower x seconds penalty for being too slow

I'm presuming you're talking XC here

Not the time but sometimes you know the course distance and speed! Then you have to be really clever and work out the bogey time!
