Took Fly on a fun ride today as he enjoys it so much and has worked so hard sj this summer. Took my youngster as well (with a friend riding). Fly was fab, forward going, bouncy but not strong. Went through 30 metres of boggy ground - guess what, lost a front shoe. He was intstantly lame. Had to ride on for another mile or so before we met a main road. The thing is, 6 of us went through boggy ground and only Fly lost a shoe. This is quite predictable. Why is it that some horses loose a shoe at a drop of a hat and others don't? Your experiences please.......
