Horse sellers beware, i recently advertised my horse on horse mart and was emailed by a gentleman asking a few further questions about my horse, after a couple of days we heard back saying he would buy her even though he had not seen her. (alarm bells rang) What idiot would buy a horse without even seeing it and that he would get his secretary to send a cheque which would include the SHIPPING FEES, this email was in very poor english. I then emailed him back asking what his intended purpose was for our horse and where she would be going we asked for a full contact address and telephone number, all we got back was another email in broken english saying she would be used for breeding, we had stated that she had excellent breedlines but he had never enquired what they were. We have since informed him that she is no longer for sale and as yet have not heard from him. So if it sounds to good to be true it often is, we were lucky but i believe some people have been caught out be this latest scam.

Didn't understand your poll but I don't think you were lucky, just sensible. I'm not sure that I would have even bothered to reply to the 2nd e-mail.

This is an old scam.

Mind you you only have to go on certain rescue sites to find people buying horses from a pic and paying for them and their transport up front..............crazy,
