I have a bag of linseed sat in my shed but with the hassle of boiling it (and watching it more to the point - nasty stuff if it boils over!) I haven't fed it more than a dozen times this winter.

I was wondering whether it would be ok to feed if I covered it completely with water and left it slowly bubbling away in a slow cooker for 24 hrs, especially as my gran gave me a slow cooker years ago that I think has only been used once!

Yay or neigh?

yay!! my slow cooker has a new lease of life!! i just cover it with water in the morning, switch it on when i get home and leave it on slow overnight, in the morning take them fresh linseed for brekkie!

Yes, it works a treat. I soak it overnight in the pot then flick the slow cooker onto a low setting in the morning. It's cooked and ready to feed by the evening.
