So last night I shook on my new project pony 'Dustry'
He is a March 2006 foal so will be near enough properly 4 in jan next year
He is bay not as dark as Soap with short white socks on the front and 3/4 white socks on the back (I know 4 white feet!
) He has a heart shaped blob in the centre of his face and a very thin stripe that runs below that, lovely temperament (let's hope he stays as sane when his danglies come off!) very active hocks! which I was v pleased to see after all the issues with activating Soap's canter etc etc He is pretty well grown on account of staying entire, and is very lean and muscley atm. He gets the chop sometime this week, then I am taking delivery of his next weekend when he will see the farrier and be turned out to chill in the field with some oldies, and let those race muscles melt away before bringing him in in Jan to begin reschooling....
Here's his race record, with the exception of 1 race he was a bit of a duffer!
He is by Chevallier this chap
out of Church Mice and was bred at Tally Ho Stud in Ireland, and he is pretty similar conf to his sire. The minus points are that he has slightly long pasterns and a fairly upright shoulder but he moves straight, nice clean legs, and I think he will turn out well, he certainly has the looks let's hope he has the talent and temperament too! *fingers crossed*
Will post pics when he arrives, can't wait!
Now to Soap's starring role on TV!
It's only a pilot for a Channel 4 gameshow idea but it should be good fun, and make for some interesting reading for the GHE blog!
A friend of a friend hooked me up, they want to film a sprinter racing a horse in a 100m dash! hahahhaha and Soap is going to be the racehorse!!!!! It sounds like fun, and I'm pretty confident we can beat the sprinter...I think.....6 legs must be quicker than 2? surely?..... if they like the pilot they will commission the show so you may see us on the goggle box for real!
What an exciting few hours it's been
