Today she was again a star :D :D :D. The bit and noseband results were not a flash in the pan :D :D :D.

I had a sleepless night stressing about what I would do next if it was a bad session, but 'twas all for nought :D

She did have a bit of a hissy fit going into canter, so I hopped off and threw D1 on to see from the ground and to see if it was me. The hissy continued. So I threw D1 off again, got on and she was again a star :D :D :D. Got D1 back on, and still, a star :D

But, there was still 'something' (overbent at times still, and not always so quick off the leg as she usually is these days), so I awaited the physio's report with interest!

Spoke to him about an hour ago. She's fine through her back, but he is the thorough sort and always starts off with the mouth (asks loads of questions and gives loads of answers :)).

There is something going on with or near her left near upper pre-molars. He looked as much as he could, but he didn't have a gag and he's not a dentist or a vet; he told me to call mine, so Mary-Kate (dentist) is coming out today if she can, if not it will be Monday. I've sent a text to my vet (in case there is an infection brewing) and await her response.

So, that's back, teeth, saddler - again to all of them in the space of two months! Flipping hoss lol. It's a good job I love her (I'd pay out anyway, but loving her means it doesn't hurt quite so much lol). Saddler is next Tuesday (makes mental note to work from home that day!). Hopefully, after that, Dizzy will be one comfortable and happy horse :D

*Wanders off grinning happily, and wondering how many different ways one can prepare beans on toast...*

:D

Yay go dizzy one. I'm glad it wasn't a flash in the pan. Hope she continus to behave and it's onwards and upwards from now on. :D :D :D
Fingers crossed the tooth thing isn't to bad.

Thankies thankies thankies :D :D :D

I know it sounds daft, given that she's got a poorly mouth, but that should be comparatively fixable :)

I was so close to giving up on her on Monday.... :o :( I should have known better - I think I hold onto the fact that she has never tried to get me off - I know I wouldn't stand a chance, but apart from the pain factor, it would have been the intention that I would have found hard to deal with; and that she has never bobbed off with me - a bolter is my greatest fear! I used to ride a couple when I was younger and fitter and a much, much better rider, and I remember hanging on for what seemed like forever (I could never bring myself to bail); I don't want to ever feel like that again :(

I know horses are horses and one cannot guarantee the future with any of them, but for now, Dizz has only shown complete ar$eness when there has been something wrong. Silly me thinking that because I had gone for one of the best bits, and that the noseband was pliable, soft and padded and fitted well, that it couldn't possibly be those; also that because the physio and the dentist were out only a couple of months ago, then it couldn't be either of those either. Shame on me :(

So pleased that things are going well for you. It is amazing how quickly things can change in the mouth tho. MK is a great dentist with a great sense of humour - ask her about the rearing dartmoor and what "fixed" it... LOL

She looks fabulous BTW.

CF - ta hun :D. Yes, M-K makes me laugh. I have some pictures of when she was doing Dizz's wolf tooth, now that was funny (if I can find them, I'll put one on... :D). I'll ask her about the Dartmoor... :D :D :D

Ta CB :D - will do :D. I got put onto him by some of the local hunters. Makes me laugh :D And (even more importantly), the horses are always freerer and more comfortable after he's been :D. He is blunt and down to earth though (lol), he'll call a spade a spade :D

Well actually i think good on you. because although you may have thought that those things couldnt be the cause you have double checked anyway! I think thats the sign of a good owner!

Most horses only show ar$eness when something is wrong. TBH your post makes a refreshing change from all the use a stronger bit/a grackle/give her a whack/have a fight type posts that are frequently seen. You have not gone for an easy option but have worked to find out whats wrong. I admire that mrs m!

TT - ta hun :D. I've gone all misty eyed - Monday was such a close run. I should have known better and sooner; hopefully in the future I'll work harder and quicker to resolve an issue that an animal that cannot speak cannot explain to me :). In the meantime, I'll just smile a lot :)

Thank you for all the support :D

Don't beat yourself up, we all try to do what is best for our horses, its just such a shame it has to be trial and error and they can't just tell us what is best for them.

cheese is the only way to have beans on toast!

Hah! I often wonder who is more mad - the horse or me for having one!

We've got saddler, back, dentist, vet AND farrier all due in the next week. Flippin 'eck....

Hey Mrs M, well done you for sticking it out - poor girl she was only trying to tell you something in her own way ...... !

Doesn't it make you wonder though, like a lot of us you clearly have your horses physio, dentist, vet, etc on speed dial and yet .... dream of the day we can afford a decent haircut for ourselves. Hey ho.

Ah, a hair cut... new shoes... a weekend break! Sorry, getting carried away there lol. I don't want to think of what this month is costing horse wise.... lol :D

And yes, she was trying to tell me something. And in future I'll make sure I'm listening properly! :D

LOL Mrs M! That pic of the sedation is hysterical! Poor lass. My poor boy was rooted (no pun intended! :D )after his last sedation. Oooo but did I take advantage of him then?!

Youngsters are so tricky. You will get there with her. Just hang in there and ignore the "know it alls" To me it looks and sounds like you're doing a pretty fair job!
