Bombproof horse ad

You should see the other vids - what on earth is the catering with a more experienced rider video all about - what is the 'experienced rider' doing? I was wondering if they were trying to ride like a pleb to show the horse is bombproof????

I clicked on this as I thought 'I like bombproof' but blimey o'reilly that horse is unreal!

I quite like the idea of him as I am a lady 'of a certain age' who is just happy to potter about at a walk or trot but he does seem to need a lot of encouragement to even walk!

Think I will give him a miss ............

If you ask me that is a well-mannered horse, which is 'bombproof' in traffic, with a very poor rider. The horse didn't really need all that nagging - it really didn't seem to take any notice. My guess (I could be wrong) is that with a rider who rides from the seat, you would see much more activity.

I only looked at the first video, but I bought a mare something like that a few years ago for my sister, who rode her 3 times and decided she was too slow. I took her back and pumped her with oats and she livened up no end, but kept the bombproofness!! And the drivers here down go around you, they just whizz past, without even slowing down. I wouldn't write him off completely, depending on what you are looking for, maybe oats might work for him too!!

i agree with Pearlsasinger, with a better rider i think he could be a decent horse, but she clearly cant ride! also peeved me that she didnt thank a single driver!

Seems to me the seller can't win really! The horse does look like a very settled, kick along ride that a lot of nervous riders would really appreciate, what more could you ask for if this is the kind of horse you are looking for?

Don't know why the rider was kicking with every step, the horse was walking for goodness sake (admittedly quite slowly) but to constantly nag his sides only make a horse dead to the leg, which has clearly happened as "Hades" completely ignored his rider.

Not keen on it's name, in my experience horses tend to earn names like that!!!

The owner wants a part exchange for a more forward going horse, schooling would make a horse like him far more sensitive to his rider and responsive to aids, so if he is as genuine as they claim they should just invest in some lessons for the rider.

He just looks like a totally bombproof dope on a rope. - just what some people want. I had one as quiet as that once and he was worth his weight in gold. I found him quite boring back then but I could put anyone on him and if they stopped trying he'd just grind to a halt bless him. Even my parents and non horsey friends would come out for a hack on him. I miss the old bugger alot.

Would like to give the "experienced rider" a wallop with that stick though and send him off for some lessons. But I suppose in their defence the novice owners probably don't know any better. Unless it's to show just how bombproof he is?

Aww don't give the poor horse a hard time. He looks lovely. With the right owner I bet he could be an absolute superstar. He obviously puts up with anything! If he was a bit happier with his work and rider I bet he's be a little smasher for a nervous rider. My biggest concern was the woman in the hi-vis pulling out onto the road in front of a speeding car!! :-o

I agree. I think it's a bit horrid to say it looks half dead! Each to their own, if someone wants a confidence giver than this horse'd be good.

Agree with Cheese here!

Not a stitch of flourescent or reflective gear!!!! On such a busy road! Can't actually see if she's nodding politely to the traffic as she blends into the background! Amazed the bus stopped in time!

Nice pony and a poppet!

Such a shame about the cough cough 'experienced rider'

Not my cup o' tea, but would be good for a beginner or very nervy rider.

I also picked up on rider not thanking the cars, some of them were very considerate I thought, alot better then some of the drivers round my way.

Bless him. Looks like what it says on the tin. Boy, people can be harsh.

Having said that - you'd want a close look at his hocks during a vetting.

But I like him very much.

seems like a nice honest chap to me, again shame about the rider but they do seems to be novices, in which case he seems hte right kinda thing for them to be on- everyone has to learn somewhere!

Looks like my old boy!! Nice steady eddy. I suppose go to look if you are interested. I am a happy hacker! My gut feeling is a lot of money but if its safe as houses, depends what you want? Would have been good to have seen a trot in along the road and the patting of the horse/cuddle a bit for effect, am suprised its ears didnt seem to move much in response?? Perhaps I am being picky. Seems completely dead though? I agree the back end hocks look a bit wonky when it went up the hill(and one of the standing ones). As it went up the hill thought its front end looked a bit stiff/short as well?? I dunno, could be the camera.

Nag nag nag with those legs, I bet its sides are numb! Definitely a vetting & at that price though. Shame they didnt thank the drivers, I tend to thank all of them HGVs tractors the lot! Looks a bit like the kind of road I live on.

If it was nearer I may have taken a look myself for me and also curiosity. Um! Go on go to see the horse and let us know what it really is like?? Hope you prove us wrong!

I'm just concerned that the owners may be members of this forum and they would be terribly upset if they read some of the comments. The horse looked happy enough and the children were enjoying him too.:(

BTW, welcome back Amymay - did you know there was a whole thread devoted to you today??
