This morning my kind butcher gave me some bones for my dog. He described them as marrow bones. They are about Mens hand size. Are these ok to feed. I thougt they would be like white bone round the edge with marrow in the middle but they all look the same colour. My dog is 7 months old and this will be first bone. Also how long do they keep in fridge or freezer? thanks

Marrow bones will be fine Henny. I would keep an eye on the dog though, if this is his first bone, as they can get quite excited by them! Make sure he is always in sight of you whilst he is eating it. They will keep quite a long time in the freezer - I tend to freeze large numbers of them every few months. Remember, they don't need to be as "fresh" as meat products for human consumption. They don't even need to be defrosted fully.
